paleodex - mobile app prototype

"Paleodex" is my high degree in graphic design diploma project. It is a mobile app made for children visiting the Paleontology and comparative anatomy gallery of the National Museum of Natural History of Paris. The highly colored and illustrated identity of the app contrasts with the gallery that essentially presents animals' skeletons. The app permits to generates real long gone animals by selecting animals characteristics. By reading informations displayed in the museum you can guess what characteristics will generate what animal. Once generated, the animal is shown in his environment in an animated screen that gives some informations on it. Every animal generated is kept in a collection section of the app and can be seen in augmented reality. Paleodex was thought as a playful way to get into the fascinating world of paleontology.

Once you chose characteristics for your ancient animal, Paleodex shows you a real one that matches them. Here you can see an example with a Dunkleosteus.
In Paleodex you can collect the animals you generate through the creation system, giving you a reward for your curiosity and the time you spend trying out all the possibilities the system gives you.
Once you chose characteristics for your ancient animal, Paleodex shows you a real one that matches them. Here you can see an example with a Baryonyx.
Once you generated an animal you can see it in augmented reality when you're in front of their skeleton or fossil in the Museum.
